CocktailsKiwi Cava Cocktail

Background

While most think of New Zealand at the mention of Kiwi, the fruit is actually native to China. The egg-sized fruit has nothing to do with the flightless bird of the same name that is, in fact, a native New Zealander. Kiwi fruit made its way to New Zealand in the 1930s, where U.S. servicemen stationed there seemed to enjoy it as a good source of vitamin C and fiber. Mixing the juice of this delightful fruit with Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava is a great way to enjoy bubbles with a little kick of gin. Serve it up for your mates, and toast to a fantastic drink, no matter which hemisphere you’re in.

Ingredients

  • 3 parts Kiwi juice
  • 2 parts Gin
  • 5 parts Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut Cava, chilled.

Directions

Mix the kiwi juice and gin in a mixing glass. Pour into a cocktail glass and add chilled Cordon Negro Brut. Serve.
